The Assistant Principal is responsible for assisting the principal with planning, directing and coordinating the academic, administrative, and ancillary activities of the High School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Promote and protect the safety and welfare of students and staff through effective student supervision.
Manage classified personnel effectively through appropriate delegation, supervision and evaluation.
Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular program while providing students with a personalized and engaging learning environment.
Confer with parents and staff to discuss student behavior and/or learning issues.
In partnership with the principal, monitor daily attendance, communicating with students, parents and juvenile services in accordance with district policy.
Effectively evaluate teachers' classroom management and instructional practices while providing clear feedback and differentiated levels of resources and support (Science of Reading Assessor).
In partnership with the principal, plan and provide professional development for all staff which includes leading teams in the PLC process.
In partnership with the principal, manage school resources (budgets, personnel, facilities, equipment, etc.) to support student achievement goals and comply with district policies and procedures.
Establish and enforce disciplinary policies and procedures.
Foster a positive school culture by effectively planning and communicating with the school community and all stakeholders.
Collaborate and communicate with the principal and other administrators/directors to strategically manage and assess the effectiveness of district operational systems.
Supervise extracurricular activities and athletic events outside of the school day.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Principal or designee.
Qualifications
Current Arkansas teaching license.
Building level administrator certified.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written).
Professional conduct, sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and instruction design/implementation/evaluation.
Ability to adapt to change.
Clean background check.
Physical requirements
Standing, sitting, walking for extended periods of time.
Bend, stoop, reach, lift (<20 lbs.)
Exposure to outdoor elements
In-district and out of district travel
