Job Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for lab systems, networks, data acquisition, instrumentation and ensuring calibrations are set to applicable standards for our research and development team related to laboratory testing.
This position will serve our US Air Division, located in Fort Smith, AR.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and investigates the analysis of problems relating to the design and operations of the test cells.
- Verify laboratory equipment is current with respect to calibration.
- Assist with designing systems for lab or other productions functions.
- Set up products for test and perform all necessary steps to conduct prescribed and specialized tests.
- Investigate and troubleshoot test equipment related problems and opportunities, document findings and recommend corrective/improvement changes to Design Engineering.
- Design and upkeep of lab data acquisitions systems and support test data management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience with test equipment, lab systems, process controls and associated processes.
- Knowledge of instrumentation related to refrigeration and gas combustion equipment.
- Demonstrated ability or formal training in LabVIEW or similar programming software for test automation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedures.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.

HOW TO STAND OUT: - Accreditation for ANSI and/or UL gas related certification and demonstrated ability to complete certification submittal packages preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), AutoCad, Pro-E, PLC's and controls.
- Experience with Pro-E is desired.
- Experience in working with governing certification agencies preferred.
